His nation's ownership of the largest oil reserves in the WORLD (albeit, of the sludgy alphalt kind...) is the ONLY 'interest' that we need to be concerned about... not his 'military threat'. (And, his leadership is likely no worse then the Saudis... at least Venezuela HAS elections --- unless we try to spike elections again --- that's MORE then the Saudi Monarchs allow.) I'd say that we ALSO have a real national 'interest' in promoting DEMOCRACY around the world, instead of Totalitarianism. We do, don't we? (Or is that merely PR fluff?)
