Thanks for the advice. I occasionally post privately to people who are slightly over the line and I suspect they may not know it. Sometimes people ask me privately, if they have gone to far on something. Generally I mean what I say in public posts and in the header. I created this thread for controversial topics expecting participants to hold opposing views or opinions. Even though it is a kind of virtual living room, I would not allow some of this in my living room at home. Some people seem to need some warm up time to adjust their style of posting so that it fits the guidelines. Some people seem to want to test my resolve on administering the rules. So a little slippage, especially at the start, doesn't necessarily bring down the hammer. I can't always tell which is which. Whatever the controversial subject may be, it may also be quite personal for some people and less so for others; to the point where some people may be quite calous about something that is very close to you. So, there is a broad range of conduct that could be construed as rude by some and by others as 'so what' or 'huh?'. I try, therefore, to present guidelines in the header that all of us could respect. Those who clearly don't respect those guidelines will be banned, but there is a huge gray area where I must allow some wiggle room on these confrontatious subjects. And sometimes I may get it wrong but I will use my best judgement to the best of my abilities, no apologies, no excuses. Have Peace, gem
