It would be less expensive and less prone to fiddling than the present system. I find it hard to believe that the present Ontario Statistics are not pretty well repeated elsewhere, it costs more than 50% of the welfare budget to administer the welfare money and make sure no one gets away with stealing it. In the meantime Canada has a health care system that is broke. In a few years it will take 50% of the taxes to pay for Healthcare, and it is going steadily downhill. I have been on a list for 3 years for cataracts, the doctor added me to the list early, so when my cataracts are ripe, I will be on the top of the list. A lady who lives near me has cancer and there is a treatment for it in the States. It was not approved in Ontario, she fought and it was approved, in the meantime she spent $31,000 that she begged and borrowed to get the treatment, and now the government said she got it from a clinic that they had not approved, so she is out $31,000. She has lived and worked and paid taxes all her life. In the meantime more than 100 people with Aids came to an AIDS conference to find ways to help their people, they have asked for asylum, and got full medical care, an apartment, furniture, and $1100 a month. I don't like it when seniors have to leave their homes because their pensions don't keep pace with inflation, but the liberals gave themselves gold plated pensions adjusted to inflation with a cost of living bonus on top. I don't like it that in a country as rich as Canada the food banks are always empty and never stop trying to find food. The lead story tonight is that that the government just cut the funding for a man who has ALS, they cut the money for his ensure, it is all he can eat. and these are the Liberals the equivalent of your Liberals. Here is a man slowly dying, and they offered him a blender, but not the ensure that his doctor ordered.... If he is disabled and it is prescribed it is legally supposed to be paid for. I have enough money, There will even be lots for the kids, if i don't live much past 95. But that isn't the point, The government is so busy funding festivals and scrounging money that they are not taking care of the important stuff like the roads, and the sewers and the schools.
