I hope you are correct that those two were sincere. Several talking heads stated that it appeared to very politically shrewd. From what I know about the two, I suspect that you are correct about Charlie.

Our media amplifies the political games that are played. Most of the US media mindlessly take democrats side. I have encountered no media that mindlessly supports Republicans.

Take Bill O'Reilley that liberals seem to hate, he is on the left on many issues and on the right on many and close to the center on still others. Sean Hannity has been very critical of Republicans on many issues. Rush Limbaugh ditto. Laura Ingram certainly does her own thinking. Michael Savage, Michael Medved, Hugh Hewitt, etc.
