Our government was run very efficiently in the 1990's under Clinton. Democrats know how to run government because they value government and know it's very important. Bushies disrespect government and are therefore lazy and callous. They appoint lobbyists to regulate industry for instance. That's just criminal. In the 90's we had a real checks and balances to keep everyone honest so there was much less corruption and almost no extremist policies getting voted into law. We also paid as we went and created surpluses. The economy was not only huming it was sustainable for decades and would have fully funded Social Security, clean fuels programs and affordable health care. Unlike now. Now all that extra money is going to the billionaire class and the big industrial special interests, especially big oil which has pocketed an extra trillion dollars under Bush-Cheney, two corrupt oilmen.
