But is the stock market supported (bought) by the Fed?

Sure seems that way to me. Im not sure this is a free market system any more. Buying stocks is one way to helicopter drop dollars to selected sectors or companies.

'It would be most unusual to have a credit crunch with financial stocks acting so well.'

So true. Something more is going on than anyone of us realize? Debt slavery for many but the overall world economy growing and collateral of the total portfolio of debt holders remaining solid even with the coming collapse of bubble market RE? Plus feedback loop of foreign pool of investors keep interest rates artificially low for years and keep real interest rates negative supporting extended multiples of asset values to some extent? If anyone has a better explanation as to why our leading financial institutions are behaving so well I'd love to hear it..

It makes no sense to talk of serious credit problems until the financial stocks start to underperform.

This probably will happen soon, but so far no cigar.
