We're going to come out of the Bush terms with far less influence and "soft power" than we had going in. Other contries are busy making alliances with an eye to the future, like Iran and China, while we're stuck defending losers that contribute nothing like Israel and policies that only help our economic rivals.

We may find ourselves with a scary big military, and nothing else soon.
