During the interview Clinton continually stated "read Richard Clarke's book." Yet those who have read the book say Clarke described Clinton as focused on bin Laden but never really in command enough to give the order for large scale military action against OBL. Clinton felt intimidated by the "wag the dog" public reaction to his sole bombing of terrorist camps, and therefore decided not to try it again. So, ultimately Clinton must shoulder a greater share of blame for not preventing 9/11, because his high school hi-jinks with Ms Lewinsky had caused the FBI, CIA and Pentagon to become suspicious of his motives re killing bin Laden. If not for his foolish romp in the oval office, those organizations would not have reacted so cynically to Clinton's assessment of the threat, and a military mission to take binLaden out could have prevented Sept 11, 2001.
