I argued against the continuation of moderated threads when the new site was under discussion. You can see how much good it did. I have to conclude the REAL (unstated) purpose of them is relieve Admin of work by having threadheads do it for them. The fact that some threadheads severely abuse the privilege never results in any consequences, in spite of statements by Admin that it will. Now some of these same tinpot dictators want yet more power. To H with them. Enforcing TOU is an Admin function, NOT theirs. As far as deleting posts, Admin will delete excessively vulgar or threatening posts. What the tinpot dictators forget is leaving some nutcase's word alone and letting them stay out there, to be recited back to them when needed, is a far worse punishment than deletion. They've got ignore. Nobody is threatening to take it from them. Let them use it.
