re: I get your drift, which is why it puzzles me to see Europe somewhat hostile to Israel these days. Some attribute that to the large influx of Muslim immigrants into Europe, but I doubt even that would have the power to change old traditions.

It was somewhat hostile to Israel 30 years ago. Their press has always been much more even handed when reporting on the Israel/Palestine issue.
