This is very important -- and it is consistent with the private chatter at the time of the invasion of Iraq. Invading Iraq was the wrong thing to do at that time but the decision had been taken and the military was told to shut up and obey orders. Now they are so furious that they are going public as soon as possible -- retiring provides that opportunity. I do not understand why Rumsfeld is still on the payroll of the US government.
