A speech like that would impress me more if she had stated what efforts had been made to date to effect those goals or even a hint as to the reforms she envisions.

She is, after all, part of the "corrupt" Congress to which she refers. Like most political speeches, this one has a certain rhetorical aura to it, without much substance. I figured it was more in the nature of a trial ballon to determine whether the unwashed masses would respond to the buzzwords of "honesty" and "civility."

But then again, I've become a dyed in the wool cynic<g>
