Gore would have kept Richard Clarke's team which got the 8-6-01 warning and Gore would have acted on it immediately, including letting Clarke's counter-terror team notify every branch of government to be on extra alert. Same thing they did prior to the 1999 LAX bombing warning, and they stopped it cold. That would have been a huge attack by Al Qaida and would have crippled the west coast economy for a long time. But what did Bush do on 8-6-01? Went back to brush-cutting and slacking off. Didn't even make a single phonecall. The excuse I heard him say is that he thought the FBI was already handling it. Yeah right. Some leadership. Some protector. After he disbanded Clinton's entire counter-terror force.
