Dems are paying a lot of attention to border states, where they are starting to win, now have Ohio in their camp, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire solidly in their camp, have bested the GOP in Missouri, and have made major gains in the southern Rockies and Southwest states.

The GOP has a real problem now of being the party for the deep South only, plus a few northern Rocky states. That is pathetic.

Therefore, the Dems can afford to ignore all southern states but Florida, Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina and Louisiana.

Of course this all depends who the candidates are. The GOP may very well nominate a moderate. If they do, they're smart. If they don't, they're dead ducks. Neoi-conservatism is totally discredited now for about 65% of the country.
