Re: "...forbidden military planners to develop a blueprint for securing Iraq after the war."

That one fact alone should tell the public all they need to know. It clearly illustrates the difference between a cool-aid-drinking ideologue... and a pragmatic realist.

(I'd venture to guess that *most* members of the public would prefer that the United States' Military command be headed by rational and practical people... rather then those who are willing to ACTIVELY ban prudent actions and planning, because that might threaten their carefully tended little ideological apple carts....)

Re: "...What was your line yesterday...any "fruit basket" could see that the debacle which is the planning for Iraq's post-war occupation could only inflame moderate islam toward radicalism."

I wrote that --- not to denigrate 'fruit baskets', which, as you correctly noted, there are *several* that post here <GGG> --- but to point out only the completely OBVIOUS:

When a previous PRESIDENT (one that came right before Clinton, and is somewhat related to this current guy...), and his National Security Advisor, and his Secretary of Defense... all *wrote* popular books that laid out these possibilities/probabilities in some great level of detail (not to mention all of the previous commentary from regional experts), then one doesn't have to claim prescience to have been AWARE of such possibilities.

It WAS, in fact, the commonly accepted wisdom before all the recent spin and this latest smoke screen aimed at obscuring that fact.
