I asked a friend from Dallas.
He pointed out that I forgot one of Texas' main food groups --Chili.

He say's there is a place called Bob Pool's "joint" across the street from Neiman Marcus headquarters that has the best chili. (The Austin Chili parlor closed).

San Antonio is legendary as the birthplace of Chili, although I don't say I know a particular place to get it it there.

I've had some great chili's in little cafes, but 2 out of 3 today serve canned chili.

Tom's Ribs sounds familiar
a few locations in San Antonio.

Don't try to share a rack, everyone will fight for each rib on theirs.
