In 2001 Bush was totally AWOl on terrorism, and let 9-11 happen. Then he used 9-11 as an excuse to invade Iraq, a totally unrelated country, giving Afghanistan where the real terrorists were only scant attention and resources.

Bush let Osama Bin LAden go at Tora Bora and has since been the worst and most self-defeating commander in chief in US history, quagmiring our military to the point where we are not even a superpower anymore, except in the air and sea. Our on the ground military is exhausted and shot. It will need about 5 years to recover. and the money we've weasted in Iraq will take decades to repay, with interest of course.

I saw Gingrich on TV and he summed it up well. The Clinton administration treated terrorism as a criminal matter, while the Bush administration considers it a war.
