I never owned Vaxgen, which went from below $2 to nearly $20 on news of it's DOD contract. From what I can gather, the mngmnt at PharmAthene is very sharp and are doing things the right way.
SIGA has a very small following and as news gets out over the next few days, I'd expect several good tradable spikes as well as chances to reload. Overall, I think the safe thing is to keep a good core position. Of all the biotech companies PharmAthene could have partnered with, they chose SIGA. I wanna be in the stock the day the smallpox contracts are awarded.
However, that won't stop me from playing with a few shares if the odds look right.
The merger proxy should follow within a few days, maybe sooner.
FYI the lowdown on PharmAthene.
