My son's doberman ate my mask one day while I was visiting. It only cost $95, but it took me several days to get a new one.

apnea Pronunciation[ap-nee-uh, ap-nee-uh]

–noun Pathology
1. a temporary suspension of breathing, occurring in some newborns (infant apnea) and in some adults during sleep (sleep apnea).
2. asphyxia.

I have sleep apnea and have been using a CPAP machine for 5 years. Has made a world of difference in the way that I feel. Also, Tina can sleep without popping me in the ribs to get me to hush up<G>!
It took me a few weeks to get acclimated to the mask and machine, but now, I can't hardly sleep without the mask. Now it's like my eyeglasses, I have to check to see if I'm wearing it sometimes<G>!

You will sleep much better once the nameless one gets everything working fine. The faint hum of the machine starts to be a soothing background noise.

Good Luck and good sleep tonight!

HF....I came in the middle here, BUT wanted to find out if the apnea belonging to him who is nameless....is he better now? My hubby's was so bad, with noises you described perfectly, that he FINALLY went to see about it. It was VERY brittle, they told him, and VERY serious. He was having an "event" about every 1 1/2 seconds... Which certainly can kill a person if it continues.

So he is much better now, sleeps with a machine...(I told him he looks like Hannible) but at least he is not at risk right now.....

Everyone, make sure you have the gasping, snorting, etc checked. It can really literally, kill you, untended.
