Well Passports will be required for everyone flying in or out of the US in January. This is already affecting tourism this summer. In 2008 passports will be required for people driving across the border so look for border states to get hit big time 2008/9 while everyone gets a passport. So tourism may get the benefit of more Americans staying home for a year or so, but will suffer from no quick trips from Canada. Friends in the bus business are already looking to get out.
