Having been into a Canadian hospital, I have to say that the cleanliness and order i was brought up to expect wasn't as i expected. At some point it has to become more rational to get rid of bureaucrats than it become rational to get rid of the people who work..... Huge expensive bureaucracy is the bane of Canadian healthcare. Also we need desperately to get rid of religious hospitals. Hospitals that hire by religion just are not economical nor does praying every morning make life any better.

I beg to disagree. I have some money set aside specifically for this purpose, if the need arises.

My family doctor, will get me all the care I need within 24 hrs of landing in Bombay, spec'd to western standards of treatment and care.

Some hospitals overseas have higher standards of care than some US hospitals. Since US hospitals kill an estimated 100K-200K patients a year and charge outrageously for the privilege, the US healthcare system has really declined in the ranks.

What horror stories, where are your links?
