I think what we all forget is that no other country is stupid enough to take CNN into war with them. When the Russians fought there was no nearly the hourly news there is now. Traditionally news was something the government used to keep the peasants onside. Now Newsmakers are allowed to advance a political position even if it is against the Government and for the enemy. In the second war reports were taken into London, editted and then sent out to various cities where they were editted and then sent out to the local papers.
