I tried to talk to normally intelligent people about OBL prior to 911 and most people were not interested and some accused me of being a nut. I wrote long treatments on Moktada Al-Sadr after we invaded Iraq and got the same response on SI even though most people here were trying to figure out the dynamics. Now most people know about him and the influence of the 12th Imam prophesies. Tim asked me the other day, if I thought we should have taken him out when we had his insurgency surrounded at the Mosque of Ali. Someday we might be blaming Bush for not bombing that Mosque when we had him trapped. Of course, that is/was unthinkable at this time.
