Decided to try a few shares of SIL, a mining stock mentioned here several times. Sumitomo has bought into SIL's big mining venture in Bolivia. That gives me some confidence that SIL might have a viable business when the mine starts producing, and maybe Bolivia will let the joint venture make a profit. Sumitomo's investment (cash infusion) reduces SIL's risk.

Sold VZ today in the high 37s, may sell more tomorrow to close out. I've been contemplating this for a few days now. For once, I agree with the analyst (AG Edwards), who is downgrading for the right reason, high valuation.
I also think the market overall has gotten ahead of itself.
