The finger wagging serves the partisan purpose of infliction. It also results in the low confidence our voters have in current political effectiveness. I don't believe it has as much to do with our 'views' as it does with loyalty to a group. We have a generation of politicians that act like they are in an arena sport. They have their own guides and strategies that are separate from anything us spectators are involved in; yet, we are supposed to be cheering them on and backing their efforts because of some partisan loyalty we are bound to. When people actually sit down and consider the principles and values that they believe make life worth living, most become sickened by the whole mess. When we live by the principles we proclaim and die by them if need be, we will have achieved the honor of a noble life worth living, intended as the natural course for all human beings. When we require the same of our representatives we can once again proclaim our reverence for a nation that stands for freedom and justice for all. In this cause the strength of a free people living in a United Nation is bound.
