Dr. Charles Drew, the black man who helped pioneer advances in blood transfusion that proved very useful in the 30's, 40's, WWII, and today.

By the way, you're not alone. Lots of community activists have come out to show support for keeping the hospital open. Among them are victims of trauma and violence who say they wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for King-Drew.
