I see that you were recommending
some exotic locales for SI get-togethers.
Newark, was it?

Newark!!! LOL!!!

Back in the '80s, an Assistant US Attorney in Newark cautioned me about walking around the area near the US Attorney's office. Said two FBI agents had been testifying at a trial in the federal courthouse across the street and had gone out at lunchtime to get something to eat. They were mugged, and their handguns were taken.

Beautiful vacation spot. In college, a friend had a postcard spashed with the banner

Visit Beautiful downtown Newark!

-----------

Coming from Redmond (near Seattle) once I was on the outside row in the plane. The guy by the window was telling the man in the center that he was from Utah and always wanted to vacation in Newark.....

We puddle-jumped into Pittsburgh and the middle guy stared at me, thinking I was getting off there.

Told him I was vacationing in Newark as well.

Poor guy must have thought he was on the bus to the nuthouse.

People from Pittsburgh need to lighten up.
