New Hope for Democrats in Bid for Senate
By ROBIN TONER
WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 — Six weeks before Election Day, the Democrats suddenly face a map with unexpected opportunities in their battle for control of the Senate.

Yeah, I've been hearing lately that some Republicans are conceding they may lose the Senate.........until recently, I thought it was just spin to throw the Dems off but now its beginning to have some reality behind it. I think the real surprise for them is the Senate seat Frist is vacating. I don't think they expected that Ford had a chance. What I don't understand is why they ran someone as weak as the former mayor of Chattanooga.....nothing against Chattanooga but this is the Senate. Ford may be perceived as young by some but he's been in the House for at least 4 years........that's better preparation for the Senate than mayor of a small town IMO......and he comes from a political family.

And I really don't know what to make of Allen in VA. VA is a border state........they couldn't find someone who doesn't have ties to the klan and isn't in denial about some of his heritage? Its weird some of the choices political parties make......I guess its politics; to whit, K. Harris in FLA. BTW I am not too impressed with Webb either......but I figure that's VA's problem.

Meanwhile, here in WA state, McGavick makes Cantwell look like a charismatic powerhouse. Could they find anyone more nebbish??? He puts the 'g' in goyim. Really.
