LIAR. Clinton was 100% justified to attack rightwing lies and disinformation. CLinton was on the ball against Al Qaida from the day the CIA confirmed that Al Qaida was behind the embassy bombings. That was around 1997. After that Clinton went after them with 150 cruise missiles and a lot more, plus he stopped the 1999 LAX bombing with Berger-Clarke's crack counbter-terror team, all of which Bush disbanded and did not replace when he came into office. Also, Clinton was never offered Osama Bin LAden. That's a rightwing myth. In January 2001, Clarke handed Rice a comprehensive plan to battle Al Qaida (Rice openly lied about this the other day). The plan was ignored. That entire year, Bushies ignored all the warnings and did not even discuss terrorism until early September, including ignboring the obvious dire warning on 8-601 that Osama was about to attack inside the USA using hijackings. Bush did nothing. Rice did nothing. And Rice has the nerve to lie and say she and Bush were "just as aggressiove". Just as aggressive? They did absolutely nothing and CLinton did plenty. Also the USS Cole was blamed on AL Qaida in January 2001 for the first time. Bush did nothing about that as well. Nothing. Np punishment, no follow-up. Nothing. Bush declared in February 2001 that our two greatest defense priorities were SDI (a useless program) and Saddam Hussein. And he left the barndoor open for 9-11 to happen. Thenused it as an excuse to attack Iraq.

The NIE has destroyed the rightwing's entire fall ad campaign. They were going to run 100 million in negative ads claiming Bush has protected us from terrorism and Democrats are weak because they won't allow illegal wiretapping of Americans without warrants. But now it's proven Bush is the greatest creator of terrorism, Bush's war. So now what do they do? Word is they may be scrapping their entire campaign and scrambling for something new. But what? Bushies once more are at war with the truth, including history and science. While Dems are at war with cliches, false perceptions, Rovian smears (like you post), irrational fears and superstition.
