Capture and conviction of the bombers... forestalling of several other *larger* bombing attempts (the airliners over the Pacific plot, and others), the successful prosecution of a war in the former Yugoslavian states... tossing al Qaeda out of the bases they'd established in Albania, direct Presidential authorization(s) (plural... because there were *several*) for the assassination of OBL and his top leadership, anywhere in the world, by any US military or Intelligence services (and even the payment of millions to any private party who could carry out the kill), strikes against assets in Sudan and Afghanistan, freezing of bank assets, progress the Arab/Israeli conflict, etc., etc.

And, most of this in the face of some serious political opposition.

Why... did someone else (pre 9-11) achieve more? Has someone since 9-11 had more success against Islamic extremism?

I love the fact that the same people who blame Clinton for the first World Trade Center bombing, which took place months after he took office, don't want to blame Mr. Bush for the second World Trade Center attacks, which took place months after he took office.

Which standard is it?
