<<How would you handle this?>>

Getting back to fundamentals, steps 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, generically speaking, the scientific process ...

(1) find out why war was declared in the first place (takes two to fight, it had been said)

(2) ascertain whether victory is ever possible for either side (6,000 years and counting, perhaps)

(3) determine condition of 'cease and desist' for both sides (until exhaustion for one side, forever and death to the other side, possibly)

(4) figure out width of window of give and take (not a lot of room, as all are fundamentalist, on both sides)

(5) choose between (i) fight to the death, (ii) fight forever, (iii) surrender, and (iv) do the reasonable.

I got no dog in this fight, as far as I can see, and prefer to let the fundamentalists on both sides adopt solution (5-i) and restrict its application to themselves, make it quick, so the rest of us (of any and all true faith) can get on with enjoying this planet.
