I would argue that the French Revolution came from the same place as the American Revolution, the wealthy middle class that arose from colonizing the New World, inspired by the philosophies of the Enlightenment.

For that matter, there were many British who supported both the American Revolution and the French Revolution. In Britain they were called Whigs, also Radical Whigs, who believe in Republicanism, the idea of government by republic, not monarchy.
