We had a county council in the Northwest that "decided" that owners of rural parcels of land could not develop more than a small percentage of what were otherwise properly plotted, zoned for use land...this to protect the rural nature of the land. Imagine the financial loss to those people who had bought the land for investment, or simply wanted to put it to a fully compliant use. I'm not talking about setbacks or riparian zones....just acres and acres of land that could not be "touched".

The County Council in the big city decided what the rural inhabitants could do, in spite of zoning and platting rules.

The battle still goes on!
