JP: How is life treating you. I believe your statement on the price of gasoline is off just a little bit. The week President Bush took office (3rd week of January 2000)the US average was $1.49 per gallon. This was a 32% increase from the previous year so the trend was in place well before Bush came on board. Last weeks average was $2.61 (and since CT is the highest in the lower 48 it should be down to $2.50 this week) or a 75% increase from when President Bush took office. eia.doe.gov
