Very few people in the low lying areas want to rebuild before the Army Corps of Engineers finishes rebuilding the flood control systems better than before.

I can't blame them.

On the bright side, many of the parts of the city that tourists love were not affected by the storm at all.

I've been back twice, January for family stuff and Mardi Gras, hope to go for this funeral.

You were talking about what would happen to the US if a major city was bombed. Well, that's about what this is like.

Mile after mile after mile of total destruction. And then, outside the destruction, life goes on pretty much the way it always did. NO was never very well run as a city, so expectations are low.
