Very interesting article - thanks. Saw another article recently about some Nordic country (Sweden?) where the use of oral forms of nicotine has been widely adopted to good effect as an alternative to cigarettes. Instead of the revolting US chewing tobacco that is the one unanticipated downside of my new high-def plasma screen for baseball games, they use a soluble version not generally available in the US (also no nitrosamine, unlike most US snuff). No lung cancer and doesn't seem to increase the oral cancer rate. Peter
