Well, in Ireland they were used for herding sheep and live in the home with the humans and eliminate rodents. They are SO FAST that they can go from in front of you to behind you and you WONT SEE THEM MOVE, its like magic. Standing on all 4's they can leap 5 feet straight up in the air. Thats how he licked the Doberman, the animal came charging out at us and I thought my dog was a goner, he merely looked over and at the last instant leaped straight up in the air and came down CLAMPED on the dogs nose. As to the Ridgeback, we were in our garage when the other dog slipped its leash and came running in, I think Paddy thought the dog was attacking me, he charged UNDER the dog and started biting UP into his belly. Scared the hell out of the dog and it ran away. jdn heres another story, once we had a mouse in our house, my wife spotted it about 8 feet away, she screamed EEK a mouse and BEFORE she got to mouse Paddy was on it and swallowed it whole in one bite.
