100,000 additional soldier in Afghanistan wouldn't be a good idea, for reasons of logistics and the political reaction within Afghanistan. The majority of people in Afghanistan support our presence for now but an additional 100,000 (even if we could send them and than support them) might make them see us more as occupiers and less as a supporting stabilizing force.

we are losing MORE THAN A BATTALLION A MONTH TO DEATH AND WOUNDS.....

Nonsense. There have been 278 American deaths in Afghanistan and officially under a thousand wounded. Its possible that the official totals are understated but some of those wounded would not be seriously wounded. Its more accurate to say we have lost a battalion to death or wounds in Afghanistan in almost 5 years not a month, but even that might be an overstatement as many of the wounded are able to return to the fight later.
