False. The fire was widespread and caused significant expansion of the floor joists. This expansion combined with some detrimental effects due to the impact caused joists to column connections to fail. When enough failures occurred, the whole building collapsed.

False. NIST says joist connections did not fail due to the fire. Further the joists were not connected to columns. They were connected to spandrel beams which were connected to the columns.

Where do you come up with this crap anyway?

Here is a picture of someone near the point of impact after the fire but before the building fell down.

There does seem to be some areas of red hot metal in the photo, but do you honestly believe that the temperature of the environment was hot enough to effect the strength of the structural steel?
