There are four of these billboards up around the Michiana area Says one concerned parent, Susan*, "I was appalled. I couldn't believe that someone would put this up, that you'd be going down the street with your children and there it is. And I'm fielding questions from my children that I just feel shouldn't be an issue because it shouldn't be up." Susan saw the billboard on Fir Road. It shows two pairs of bare feet and the website www.MyLameSexLife.com. Adds Susan, "They're just really inappropriate. They're extremely provocative. I've never seen anything like it before." However, Susan was even more surprised when she found out the message belonged to a church. Granger Community Church is sponsoring a course over five weekends dealing with sex. Senior Pastor of the admittedly non-traditional church Mark Beeson explains, "Since it is such a relevant topic in our culture, we believe there will be a lot of people who will come to see, does God have anything to say about improving my sex life." Says Beeson, “I believe almost everyone in America is talking about sex except the church, and that's fascinating to me." The website leads to a message about the course, called "pure sex" with discussion topics about lust and pornography and what the church teaches. Explains Beeson, "It's an important topic to address and we're going to talk about it." Meanwhile, some like Susan say the billboard has gone overboard. She says, “I think that they should take them down, just out of courtesy to the rest of us who think they're appalling." The church says they've received some feedback about the four billboards, most of the callers simply curious. They say the website has received a lot of traffic and they expect the course, starting next weekend, will be busy.wndu.com
