JDN, Sounds like they look different, but have some of the aptitudes. The Australian Sheep Dog, looks a bit like a collie, but is a little smaller than the average collie, and they are much faster, and can jump higher than a collie. Once they know what the herder wants done, they know to do it whenever the same situation comes along without commands.

I had never heard of a wheaten, but it seems I learn something new every day. He sounds like a rough and tumble dog that can take care of himself. I had a friend that had two Irish wolf hounds, and those things are huge. When they stand up on their hind legs, the are 6 feet, or taller, high. That's a lot of dog!!
