Excellent analysis. I have to think that any potential credit crisis will originate in the mortgage area.

Maybe a spread blowout taking down several leveraged hedge funds.

What I see is that many here (myself included) are really surprised that the regulators said that mortgage underwriting must be sound.

The mortgage lender stocks sure didn't have much of a reaction to the new guidelines. As usual, the fundamentals don't seem to matter to these stocks.
