Re: don`t look for a conclusion 10/4

Stan, that`s a point well taken. One potential scenario is further adjournment of the announcement of the ITC ALJ`s Opinion, concomitant with continued mediated negotiations until a deal is struck.

Don't look for a conclusion on 10/4. If any progress is being made it will take a series of discussions over a period of time. Remember, there are numerous suits and many issues. It could go on for weeks. In fact, I believe the only way there would be news on 10/4 is if the parties break things off.

Stan,

I agree with you. If Broadcomm is expecting a favorable judgement from the ITC on 10/10, they will not be motivated to settle on 10/4. However, this is definitely a gamble, if the the ITC decision (or remedies) goes easy on qcom, BRCM will have lost a lot of leverage. Stay tuned, it will be interesting. Volatility should be high.

For those who are expecting a large swing in qcom's or brcm's stock price one way or the other, it might pay to buy a call and buy a put. Disclaimer: I have not done this, yet.
