Hi Sidney. That's like saying sinners won't be allowed in the kingdom of heaven. We are all sinners. But because of the work of Christ, our sins are not reckoned against us. You see, I did not write those verses about Christ reconciling the world. Men under conviction of the Holy Spirit of God wrote them. And you can't just rationalize them away by trying to find scripture that seems to "override" them.

Those people you mention will all feel the wrath of God. Make no mistake, there will be judgment. But judgment is not without purpose. Everything God does is for a reason. Notice in 1 Cor 5:5 the punishment of being given over to satan was with a view to salvation. Same with 1 Tim 1:20. Isaiah 26:9 says "when God's judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants will learn righteousness". Judgments, including those of Revelation, are for correction. God doesn't need to throw a temper tantrum to blow off steam. He uses judgment for good purpose.

You say I am guilty of "abuse of the scriptures". I say stop rationalizing and changing the meaning of some scripture to fit your overall view.

Thanks Sidney!

Hi again Sidney. Aren't you going to help me out with this one? This_is_the_end doesn't know the meaning of joyful obedience.

I obey most laws because of fear of tickets, fines or jail. I obey my parents because I love them (My dad died of brain cancer June 20 this year at age 71).

Where does obeying God fit in here?

:-)
