The rightwing GOP has done almost nothing on homeland security since the 9-11 COmmission gave Bush and his people all D's and F's. Democrats have been fighting fiercely for more Homeland Security but their demands are refused by Frist and Hastert. No democrat-sponsored bill is even allowed to be voted on. Ever. Not one. Also, the democrats had nothing to do with Foley's demise that I know of. Although we are aware of gross hypocrisy amongst rightwing leaders when they demonize hays in an attempt to pander to the prejudiced religious right. In fact, I'll bet the rightwing has many more gays in its leadership than democrats do. But they are all closeted. Foley is finally out of the closet, but Hastert let him preyb on teenaged boys for years and did nothing. Why?

If you care about Homeland Security vote democrat. The GOP_ is totally AWOl on the subject. Though they finally passed a minor bill yesterday right before the election as window-dressing because they know it's something Dems are going to be hitting them about, the fact Bushies will not search cargo containers because industrial special interests like Walmart say it will cost them money. And look at how Bush wants to turn 22 of our biggest ports over the Dubai which is a terrorist sponsoring nation.
