We don't know all the facts about what fellow members of congress did or did not do. They should have shunned Foley and all of their members who do likewise. I seriously doubt that Republicans have a monopoly on this affliction or crime, whatever you want to call it. Murder is murder, Suma. Period. You can get it excused as justifiable homocide if you are in IMMEDIATE danger. Otherwise, you take the consequences. And, as I am sure you know, spousal abuse is hardly confined to men. It is also done by women. Sometimes the man is smaller and weaker. Sometimes (as I do) he has a psychological barrier against striking a woman. But women do beat up men.
