We don't know all the facts about what fellow members of congress did or did not do. They should have shunned Foley and all of their members who do likewise.

I seriously doubt that Republicans have a monopoly on this affliction or crime, whatever you want to call it.

Those who use this incident as political leverage are going to find out it's a sword that cuts both ways.

Murder is murder, Suma. Period. You can get it excused as justifiable homocide if you are in IMMEDIATE danger. Otherwise, you take the consequences.

And, as I am sure you know, spousal abuse is hardly confined to men. It is also done by women. Sometimes the man is smaller and weaker. Sometimes (as I do) he has a psychological barrier against striking a woman. But women do beat up men. And a lot more commonly tham you think.

This bibliography examines 195 scholarly investigations: 152 empirical studies and 43 reviews and/or analyses, which demonstrate that women are as physically aggressive, or more aggressive, than men in their relationships with their spouses or male partners. The aggregate sample size in the reviewed studies exceeds 175,700.

There are two sides to this, Suma. Men are much less likely to report the crime because of the shame attached to being beaten by a woman.

The case that ticks me off is that music producer in LA that brought a woman home and then shot her in the head.

He did that 2 or 3 years ago and he hasn't been in jail for even ONE day. He may die of old age before he ever sees a courtroom.
