This was Foley when he was a big supporter of Clinton's impeachment..."What are we going to tell the children?". No doubt he was copying down the most explicit points from Starr's report for future reference. And the pedophile stayed in charge of the Repug "child caucus" even though the Repug leadership knew about his "problem?". Yup, Hastert (increase the value of my Illinois land with tax payer funds), Delay (Abramoff's best friend), Boehner (of passing out checks from the tobacco lobby on the House floor fame) left the pedophile in position to do more "good". Yeah, let's hear it for those pillars of the Christian right.

At the very least DEMAND that the Bushes explain what they're up to and DEMAND that Condie explain why she sometimes thinks Bush is her husband. DEMAND that Laura explain why she high tailed it out of the WH and into a local hotel. Why aren't you DEMANDING that Hyde, Gingrich and Barr, adulterers all apologize for their behavior...in public? It's no longer a private matter if it's a CRIMINAL MATTER. How perverted are you that you want to endlessly dream about Clinton/Monika...sex between two consenting and (at the time) particularly stupid people. This is the entire point of the rightwing: you guys are ridiculously and almost laughably perverted. If sex is a private matter, why, in all human societies, is marriage such a big deal, bordering on the cornerstone of humanity? Everyone in the village, give or take a few, gathers around the couple who sign up with witnesses galore to a legal position surrounding their sexual relations. There is nothing more public nor, [historically], more important. That is a rhetorical question and for a change, I am not going to go into a detailed explanation of why sex is not a private matter, though, of course, people prefer it to be, for themselves anyway. Most people have no idea why marriage even exists - they confuse it with stupid romantic notions of love. Which is why they get into such trouble. I dare say you have some opinions on the whole business, being in the business of wrecking the marriages, or, as you might call it, disassembling, or maybe deconstructing, the relationships. Mqurice

There's NOTHING "hoity toity" about it. Studds and Crane should have BOTH been kicked out and prosecuted. I would hope that if their cases had come up today, they would have been. Cobalt...HOW cynical you must be to think I would react to the Foley revelations any differently because of his political party. There are some things that DWARF politics and partisanship. This is one of them. I'm a guy that thinks they should REOPEN the Mary Joe Kopechnie case and nail Ted Kennedy for at LEAST manslaughter... I think that being elected to public office is an HONOR. If you get that honor, then you not only comport yourself as a GOOD citizen, but an exceptional citizen. That doesn't include trying to pick up 16 year old pages.
