<<Have they found out exactly what happened at the spinach farms in Ca? I at one time heard a suggestion that farm workers were defecating in the field but then I heard that theory was po poed.>>

I haven't heard either but the field was organic, no chemicals, just some type of animal crap for fertilizer. My neighbor used to be 100% organic but she has started using pesticides and herbicides at times, just enough to keep her 5 acres under control. She gets leaves plus some of my wife's horse shit and COMPOSTS it. Heats up enough to kill the bacteria. Makes for good fertilizer. We give her horse shit and she gives us strawberries that are to die for. Nice trade.
