They were subjected to longer hoter fires than the NIST report states occurred in the WTC towers, but they didn't sag or fail.

In the original tests the floor joists were not subjected to fires along their full length. It was assumed that a fire would not engulf the entire floor. On 9/11 the whole length of the floor joists were heated and so no part of it could absorb the expansion or transfer the heat.
