The USA does what it wants to do

Not often.

People don't do what they want to do, they do what they're forced to do by convention, other people's finger waggling or threats of punishment. People are sheep. The human species is sheepie.

This realization causes lots of unhappiness in people hence all the over medicating, over drinking and over eating. It also leads to violence and general depression.

Read the article again. It isn't what AQ did TO US. It's what we, the sheeple of america did TO US.

We wouldn't have let it happen to us if we were less sheepie and more like, say, cats.

There is a strong teutonic streak in the USA. Al Q didn't destroy who you are. Your reaction exposed who you are.

It's actually "Jacksonian." After President Andrew Jackson, the first American President who wasn't from the British upper crust, but from the Border "upper crust" (such as it was).

The Border region being the rough lands along the English Scottish border that got taken and taken back countless times over centuries.

Sometimes called "Scots-Irish" in America because so many of them were sent by Cromwell to Ireland to keep the Catholics down.

They don't like being told what to do, and in fact, you can't make them do what they don't want to do. They fight for fun, they stick together, and they never back down from a slight or any other provocation.

American Teutons, on the other hand, were mostly pacifists who came here to get away from the German wars. They are good at fighting in large part because they are meticulous and will follow orders, but unlike the Scots, they don't think war is glorious.
